Question:    What is the relationship of religion and power in history?

Purpose

Knowledge:

After doing this assignment you will have a clear idea will have a clear concept of the changing patterns of history across an extensive span of time, and the role of a single theme within that history

Task

  1. Read all the textbook readings  assigned for this course.
  2. Read all the primary sources assigned for this course.
  3. Write an argumentative essay of no more than 1500 words.
  4. It must include evidence and information from across the breadth of the semester and 3 primary documents, from those read for this course.

Question:
Over the course of the semester you have examined the relationship of religion and power to culture, society, and government across four thousand years of western history.  What is the relationship of Religion and Power in history?

 -----You must address Ancient, Roman, and Medieval eras of the course as outlined in the syllabus
-----You must use at least 3 different primary sources (of those assigned on the syllabus/modules.)
-----Your essay should draw on detailed evidence from lectures, primary sources, and the textbook.

(You may take any stance you want, but your argument must be original and well proven.)

 

 Tips:     primary sources are evidence. They should be used along with other evidence to prove your argument.   They are NOT the subject of the paper.

NO RESUBMISSION = This is the final assignment of the semester and is not eligible for resubmissions.  Please take what you learned on rewriting Paper 1 and Paper 2 to produce the best essay possible.


Requirements (Failure to follow any of these will result in grade deductions)

-Submit paper through  Canvas before the due date and time.

-Must be written/composed in Google docs.

-You must  use Footnotes for all information except that which comes from your own mind.
