Paper 2- Argumentative Essays on Slave Narratives

 

Question:  How did the interactions of slave and master impact the Antebellum acceptance of the institution of slavery?

 

Purpose

Knowledge:

After doing this assignment you will have a clear idea of the culture of slavery in the antebellum south, and the complexity of Virginian society in  culture and society in an era of transition.

Skills:

After doing this assignment you should be able to:

• Synthesize multiple and conflicting sources to concisely create an effective argument.
• Use evidence from both primary and secondary sources to prove your argument.
• Professionally communicate the same argument in two different lengths.

 

Task

1. Read the assigned Slave Narratives. (Primary Source)
2. Read all the textbook readings through Cotton Revolution.   (Secondary Source)
3. Write 2 essays that put forth the same argument answering the following question:
1. -(50%)- Format 1 = 350-500 word essay
2. -(50%)- Format 2 =  150-200 word essay

 

Using the Slave Narratives (as main your primary sources) along with the textbook, make an argument to answer the following question:

-Must be written/composed in Google docs.

-You must  use Footnotes for all information except that which comes from your own mind.
